The SNAKERATTLERS are a hell-bound voyage of death rock, garage punk potency and fragments of the oldest, dustiest rockabilly. Their sound is acerbic, ruthless, erratic and uncompromising, and comes with an underlying message of the importance of always being yourself. The SNAKERATTLERS’ gargantuan, relentless and devastating experience will refresh the belief of what a two-piece band can produce.
Hailing from the beautiful city of York (assuming you ventured further than the retail outlet), SNAKERATTLERS have now established themselves firmly in the UK underground music scene, racking up a hugely impressive 100 shows throughout the 2019. The band also launched their debut album, ‘ALL HEADS WILL ROLL’, one of the fastest selling Dirty Water Records releases in the label’s history.

1. X RAY CAT TRIO – ‘EXECUTIONER’
This track is from the X Ray Cat Trio album, ‘Bloody Deeds’, which had a really profound influence on us as a band, when we were forming our sound. This track in particular is really dark, moody and sounds like it’s a theme tune of hell itself.
2. THE MONOFONES – ‘FEEL ALRIGHT’
We first heard this song on a compilation CD we found at a gig in Leeds. We liked the song so much, we contacted the band to see if they wanted to come and play in England. This started our friendship with The Monofones. The tour in January and February will be our fifth together.
3. BONES SHAKE – ‘COPS’
This is a real deadly banger, from a disgusting rock and roll three-piece from Manchester, that we’ve also toured with. This song heavily inspired our song ‘Wild’, which was the closing track on our second album.
4. ROCKET FROM THE CRYPT – ‘MIDDLE’
This track is a regular on our Spotify playlist, when we’re chewing up tarmac on the way to play a show. John Reis has written so many good songs, but this one is a short sharp shock. Really good for getting the blood pumping.
5. THE PREACHERS – ‘WHO DO YOU LOVE’
This band pretty much invented head banging. The old black and white video of this song is hilarious, as the people present at the Top of The Pops-esque show really don’t know what to do in terms of dancing, when these nutters start blasting this track out! It’s a proto-punk classic and proto-punk is basically what we do.

6. BLUR – ‘CHINESE BOMBS’
This track is a few minutes of utter chaotic bliss! Both of us grew up in the 90s, and both of us were firmly on the side of Blur when there was that fictional battle between Blur and Oasis. This track captures Blur at their craziest. This track taught us both about how to use dynamics in music.
LUCKY 7: SNAKERATTLERS – ‘LOSE MY MIND’
Possibly our joint favourite song that we play. It opens our set after the intro track and slams in like Brock Lesnar sending a jobber to Suplex City. We both really like this song as it often makes the audience pay attention to us. When we’re setting up, we look like a delicate, quiet two-piece band, but when we’ve played ‘Lose My Mind’, people are fully aware that we’re not as timid as we look!
